Family Messages

Family Messages is planned for a future release. We're designing a family messaging system based on feedback from early users.

What we're planning:

  • Leave notes and reminders for family members
  • Schedule messages for specific times
  • Send to specific displays or all family members
  • Read receipts when messages are seen

Current alternatives:

  • Use shared Google Calendar events for reminders
  • Add text content to displays manually
  • Use Cozi lists for to-do items

When we launch Family Messages, it will include:

Message Types​

  • Quick notes ("Snack in fridge")
  • Daily reminders ("Don't forget your lunch!")
  • Schedule changes ("Practice canceled today")
  • Motivational messages ("You got this!")

Targeting​

  • Send to specific child's display
  • Send to all displays
  • Send to specific rooms

Scheduling​

  • Immediate messages
  • Scheduled for specific times
  • Recurring reminders

Safety​

  • Parent-approved only (kids can't send without approval)
  • Age-appropriate content filtering
  • Message history for accountability
